Autumn Update 3

The children have been working hard in the first few weeks of half-term, thinking up creative ideas and challenging themselves to always improve.  In English, we wrote a story about a cheeky cat getting up to lots of mischief.

In Maths, we have been learning to calculate multiplication and division using bar models and inverse operations.

Creativity has been at the forefront of our thinking and learning in Art.  We have been learning lots about the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama and her resilience and determination to be an artist even though her family were all farmers.  The children looked at lots of her work and discussed the influences that she drew on to create her famous dot pictures.  We had a go at recreating one of our favourite pictures.
