The children have been working hard in the first few weeks of half-term, thinking up creative ideas and challenging themselves to always improve.  In English, we wrote a new version of the Christmas story, based on a Mexican traditional tale.  The children were encouraged to think up adverbs that helped paint a picture in the mind of the reader.

Creativity has been at the forefront of our thinking and learning in Art.  We have been learning lots about the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama and her resilience and determination to be an artist even though her family were all farmers.  The children looked at lots of her work and discussed the influences that she drew on to create her famous dot pictures.  We had a go at recreating one of our favourite pictures.
