Autumn 1 update

We are so proud of how well Panda Bears have settled into their new school life and how they have adjusted to our new routines. We have been very busy with our learning and exploring the classroom environment, showing great Creativity in our junk modelling station and Collaboration when working outside in the construction area.

This half term we have focused on a range of different stories, from the Billy Goats Gruff, to My Pet Star. We have retold the stories using story maps and props and have started to use our Phonic knowledge to add labels and simple CVC words to our pictures. Panda Bears particularly enjoyed creating their own map for the Billy Goats to come and visit Godalming!

Panda Bears have particularly enjoyed our most recent story, My Pet Star, looking at all the different planets and thinking about what they would do if they had their own pet star. They have created rockets and helmets to help them go into space and have enjoyed role-playing with our small world space station.

We have also been working hard on our counting and number recognition, focusing on our number of the week. We have used different media and resources to represent different numbers and even made our own number track outside using the chalks.

We are looking forward to what the next half term will bring and to continue learning and growing together as a team.
