House system
At Busbridge Infant School, all children and staff (with the exception of the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher) are allocated to one of our school houses. The houses are named after much-loved bear characters from classic children’s literature: Paddington, Baloo, and Rupert.
Each house has two Year 2 House Captains, elected democratically each term, who take on the important role of reading out the names of children in their house who have successfully completed their achievement cards during our weekly assembly.
House points are totalled and shared in the weekly Celebration Assembly, where the winning house is proudly awarded the trophy, decorated with their house ribbons. This system encourages everyone to aim high in their learning, with mutually agreed goals set for different point milestones — celebrating effort, teamwork, and achievement across the school.
Our first milestone this year is 50 points where the whole school has democratically voted to be able to choose their learning partner for the day.
