Autumn Update 1

We have had a busy couple of weeks learning new and familiar stories.  The children have been re-telling the story of 'The Enormous Turnip' and 'The Little Red Hen'; learning about the characters, the repeated refrains and the sequence of the stories.  We drew our favourite characters and had a go at writing the names of them, looked at and painted different vegetables and watched the vegetables change as they got old.   We also made the most of being outside; planting new bulbs in our garden, counting and creating collections and talking about how the seasons change ... and so much more!

Labelling the characters

"They pulled and they pulled, but the turnip would not budge!"

We have also started our Little Wandle Reading Practice sessions; the children have been tuning into different sounds and learning how to share a book together at the same time!  Children in Panda Bear class have been taking care of the new books and were excited to take them home to share with their families.
