Sun Bear class have been super busy! We have been really enjoying all the learning in Year One. We are so excited to share our brilliant learning with you.

In English, we have been looking at fiction and non-fiction texts. We started off by looking at a range of non-fiction texts and identifying the key features – did you know that they have a contents page and an index page? We then planned and made our very own information page all about the human body. We found out some fascinating facts. One of them was that each hair on our head has its own tiny muscle!

          

In maths, we have been demonstrating our school value of ‘Resilience’ as it has proven to be tricky at times, but everyone in Sun Bear class did not give up! We have been doing addition, subtraction, doubles, and we have even looked at 2D shapes and their properties.

                                                                

We have also been thoroughly enjoying our foundation subjects. We have been exploring colour mixing in Art, using primary colours to make a secondary colour. We have been exploring each country from the United Kingdom in Geography, and we have even learnt some Welsh from Miss Bowen – we can now count to 10 in Welsh and sing ‘head, shoulders, knees and toes’ in Welsh too! We have been using chromebooks and have logged in using our own usernames and passwords.

        

We are looking forward to visiting the church next week and singing our harvest songs we have been practising during singing assembly and in our RE lessons.
