Autumn 4 Update

Autumn 4 Update

What a brilliant end to the Autumn Term!  We were kept busy right up until the last day and have produced such wonderful work over the term.

We were able to finish our Art projects inspired by the work of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama.  Having explored her style and tested out different techniques, we drew our own pumpkins and used either paints or felt-tip pens to create the dots that she uses in many of her own designs.  We then created patterns using pastels to create an interesting background to mount our pumpkins on.  Many of the class chose to re-do parts of their pumpkin and background after evaluating their first attempts in order to make improvements and produce the best pieces of work we could.

Our Nativity performance was a real triumph! Lots of work went in to learning songs and words and the performances went without a hitch, despite lots of illness and parts needing to be filled at the last minute.  It will certainly take the whole of Christmas to get the songs out of our heads.

Next term brings lots of exciting new learning for Brown Bears.  We will be learning more about the different continents in Geography and building on our Gymnastic skills in our PE lessons.  We will also be exploring a brand new artist in our Art lessons, so watch this space for another exciting art project.  These are only a few tasters of the learning coming so keep checking back for updates about the other subjects.
